HedgeBlog - happy hibernation

As the days are getting colder and there is a definite nip in the air, for most of us, our thoughts turn to rugging up and turning on the central heating, for others our thoughts turn to snuffling up and hibernating. It seems like such a great idea.
We are rather sad to announce that Lochlan the Hedgehog has now left the garden and is safely snuggled up in his hedgehog house. The garden is very quiet without him. Really quiet, as he's blind he tends to bang into things which can make quite a racket!
We will be looking forward to seeing him again in the Spring.
He's a handsome chap isn't he?

The Great British Duck Race

Great British Duck Race - Sunday September 2nd 2007

Everyone loves their rubber duck, especially if one of the little fellows gives you the chance to win £10,000!As soon as we heard about The Great British Duck Race, we knew we had to be involved, and you can be too.

Adopting a duck or ducks is easy, just follow the duck links on our web site.
By buying a duck you have the chance to win the top prize of £10,000,
and, to make your conscience feel better, your donation goes towards helping a fabulous charity -
HoneyPot - You can read more about their work on their website http://www.honeypot.co.uk/
Honestly, I know I'm a push over, but there was a tear in my eye when I looked through their site.
They are such a deserving charity so please, please, please adopt a duck to help an underprivileged child enjoy their childhood - NO PRESSURE

If you have any questions about the Duck Race or donations, please contact us.
We will be there, enjoying the high drama and taking photos - maybe of your winning duck!
Adopt a Duck Today
GOOD LUCK!!

HedgeBlog - postcards from the hedge

Due to popular demand - here he is, probably the most photographed hedgehog in the UK - Lochlan the Hedgehog. For those of you who don't know, Lochlan is completely blind and therefore needs to be in a secure garden - which is why he came to live with us.

He has been in captivity since he was found as an abandoned baby - hoglet, 9 months ago. He has settled in well to life back in the wild - although he is ever so slightly spoilt, with an endless supply of hedgehog biscuits, catfood and fresh water - he's not exactly slumming it in the Hamptons!

Exhibition A Huge Success

Thank you to everyone who came to see us at our first exhibition on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th June.

We really appreciated the support and were delighted with such positive feedback. So much so,that we are considering making this a regular event - so watch this space.

We would like to pass on a HUGE thank you to Laurie at Click 2 Print, for his encouragement and for letting us take over and set up the exhibition in his courtyard space.

Our next exhibition will be at Barnes Fair on Saturday 14th July. Well, when I say exhibition, we have a stand there near the pond and will be selling more of Giles' wonderful photographic prints, so please come along.

If the sun decides to come out, it really is a fantastic day out.

Please give me a call if you need any further details about it.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Our First Photographic Exhibition

What a difference an award makes - Since winning Professional Photographer Magazine, Fine Art Photographer of the Year, Giles' photographic artwork has gone from strength to strength.

Walls all over the British Isles, USA and Australia are proudly displaying Giles Christopher prints.

Spurred on by this success, and a hint of sunshine, we thought let's put an exhibition of our favourite pieces together - so we are. Obviously we've been busy arguing over which pieces should be included but we are getting there. Honestly, creative types can be so protective about their work.

We thought it would be most appropriate to show Giles' personal work taken around Hampton, our local area. These are images you will want to live with. Views you may not have seen before.

Giles loves the light and atmosphere you can capture if you are up with the lark. If you are an early morning dog walker in the Hampton area, you may well have seen him cycling past you, racing to get the best from the early morning mists and light.

In addition to the personal collection, we are thrilled to be able to include a number of our favourite pieces from the Loch Fyne Restaurant collection. A percentage of the profits from the sale of these prints will go to the RNLI - Loch Fyne's charity.

Our friends at Click 2 Print (professional photographic printers), in Hampton High Street, are kindly letting us use their courtyard space to showcase the photographs over Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June from 10:00am to 4:00pm - thank you Laurie and Matt.

Canvas and framed prints will be available for sale, or feel free to browse
- Giles and I will be there throughout, we would love to see you and as ever, value your support.

AUSTRALIA TRIP

Our trip to Australia over Christmas and New Year seems a life time ago, the tan has completely gone now. And as lovely as it is to be back home, I have to admit occasionally I wish I was back there - like RIGHT NOW when it's so cold and trying to snow!

If anyone needs photos of beaches, fluffy white clouds in blue skies or travel / Australia generally, we have one or two photos you may find appropriate - 6,000 apparently!

FRONT COVER PHOTOGRAPHY

If you live in the Hampton, Kingston or Sunbury area - look out for your FREE copy of Found It Magazine.

Once again, we have supplied the front cover images of local sites. It's a great little magazine and we're thrilled every time we are asked to supply an appropriate image.

The image for Hampton was a particular favourite - Boats at Dawn, taking at 04:00 under Hampton Court Bridge. This image has also won Giles the title of Professional Photographer of the year - in the Fine Art Category.
